The Perfect Voice for Everything You’re Writing

I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and sound during this COVID-19 crisis. If you’re like me, you’re getting used to it (for better or worse), and you’re using the time to get a lot of stuff done.

As an author/online entrepreneur, it certainly is a good time to get a lot of work done on your books and digital programs.

In fact, many authors and business coaches are using the time to put on live webinars and/or run special promotions for their books and online programs.

If you are, or plan to, here are a few questions that may be running through your mind as you plan your webinar or promotion:

  • How much valuable information from my book or program should I share?
  • Should I be concerned with “giving away the farm?”
  • Should I just provide teaser information and make people pay for the good stuff?

Put simply, how do you balance delivering value to your audience with the fear of giving so much information away that no one bothers to buy from you?

You can get my definitive thoughts on this topic by watching this week’s video.

Lean Into Delivering Big-Time Value

In this week’s video, I provide insight into when to tease and when to provide over-the-top value when putting on webinars and promotions for your books and online programs.

Here is a brief summary of the key points I cover.

It’s better to show leadership and provide your crowd with the over-the-top value instead of trying to entice them with “teaser tidbits” that you hope will motivate them to buy.

When you provide people with great value it can trigger a reciprocity response in which they feel obligated to give something back to you. This “something” could be purchasing your book or online program.

A good approach is to provide over-the-top value for your crowd in the form of insights, information, and bonuses.

You can then tell your audience that what you’ve given them is just “the tip of the iceberg” in terms of the volume of information you can potentially deliver to them.

In other words, give them a lot of value for free and make it clear that you have a lot more detail to share with them. This additional detail can be what they’ll receive through your paid content.

Better your crowd views you as a go-giver than a manipulative teaser.

Again, I get into this topic in more detail in this week’s video, so please watch it.

Until next week, take action and be good to yourself and those you love!
